They had spent the first two months of their freshman year as good friends and study partners, until one day when Peeta asked her out. That was just the effect Peeta had on everyone he met he was impossible to hate. Despite how shy and standoffish Katniss usually was, he had gravitated towards her and won her over immediately. They had met their freshman year during orientation, becoming friends right away due to Peeta’s affable and gregarious nature. It was shortly after she had introduced him to her family for the first time, and they had immediately fallen for him just as hard as she had.
